How to add a booking link to your salon's Google Business Profile and Instagram

Step by step: add your salon booking link to Google Business Profile and Instagram, where exactly to paste it, and how to keep the link clean and working.

To add a booking link to your salon's Google Business Profile, open your profile's edit screen, find the appointment or booking link field, and paste your booking page URL — then use the same link as your website. On Instagram, add it as a link in your bio and use the link sticker in Stories. Once both are in place, people who find you on Google Maps, Search or Instagram can book in a couple of taps instead of calling.

This guide goes through each step, where exactly to paste the link, and how to keep it working.

You need a booking page with its own address — something like salonos.link/your-salon. Before pasting it anywhere:

  • Open it on your phone, on mobile data, and make a test booking. If it's slow or broken here, it's broken everywhere.
  • Use the plain link. Don't add long tracking codes to the end. A short, clean link looks trustworthy when people see it, is easy to read out, and doesn't break when someone copies it into WhatsApp.
  • Use the same link everywhere. One link is easy to remember, and if you ever change your booking system, you know exactly where to update it.

Google changes its menus from time to time, so labels may look slightly different on your screen, but the steps are broadly the same.

Step 1: Open your profile's edit screen

Sign in to the Google account that manages your salon. Search for your salon's name on Google, or open Google Maps; your profile management panel appears. Choose Edit profile. (In the Google Maps app, you can also go to your profile and tap Edit profile.)

Look for the Contact section and a field called Appointment links or a Bookings option. Paste your booking page URL there and save.

If your salon's category supports it, this makes a Book button show on your profile. If you don't see the field, check that your business category is a salon-type category, such as "Hair salon" or "Beauty salon".

Step 3: Set your website

In the same Contact section, the Website field is often the most-clicked link on a salon's profile. If you don't have a separate website, use your booking page here too. Customers get your services, prices, photos and a booking button in one place.

Step 4: Check that it works

Changes can take a while to appear, and Google sometimes reviews edits first. After it's live:

  • Search for your salon on your phone and tap Book or Website.
  • Make sure it opens your booking page, not an old site or a broken link.
  • Check Google Maps as well; that's where most local customers will find you.

Step 5: Keep the rest of the profile in shape

A booking link on a thin profile doesn't do much. While you're there:

  • Opening hours — including special hours for festivals and holidays.
  • Photos of your actual salon and work, not stock images.
  • Services and prices, matching your booking page.
  • Replies to reviews, good and bad. It shows people you're paying attention.

In your bio

Go to your profile, tap Edit profile, then Links and Add external link. Paste your booking URL and give it a clear title like "Book an appointment". Instagram allows more than one link, so put the booking link first.

Then mention it in the bio text itself, for example: "Book online below" or "Walk-ins welcome · Book online below".

In Stories

When you post a before-and-after or a new look, add the link sticker with your booking URL and a short label like "Book this look". Save your best booking stories to a Highlight called "Book" so the link is always one tap away.

In DMs

Many salon bookings on Instagram start as a message. If you have a professional account, save your booking link as a quick reply so you can send it in one tap when someone asks "available tomorrow?".

  • WhatsApp Business — the website field in your business profile, your greeting message and a quick reply.
  • Your shop front and reception — a QR code that opens the booking page.
  • Visiting cards and bills — a printed QR code and the short link.
  • Facebook page — the website field and a "Book now" button if you use one.
  • Short beats clever. salonos.link/glow-studio is easier to type from a poster than a long, random-looking link.
  • Don't use a link shortener that hides the destination. People are wary of links they can't read, especially in WhatsApp.
  • Want to know where bookings come from? Instead of adding tracking codes, ask. A "How did you hear about us?" question at the chair tells you whether Google or Instagram is working, without cluttering your link.
  • Update everything at once if the link changes. Keep a note of every place you've pasted it.

How SalonOS helps

Every SalonOS salon gets a page at salonos.link/your-name that's built to be pasted into Google Business Profile, Instagram and WhatsApp. It includes structured data so search engines understand your services, hours and location, and every salon page is listed in a sitemap. Here's a live example. The page can also be added to a customer's home screen, so it works like your salon's own app. More on the booking page.

Frequently asked questions

Why don't I see a "Book" button on my Google profile?

Booking features depend on your business category and on Google's review of the change. Check your category is a salon-type one, make sure the link is saved in the appointment field, and give it some time. The Website link works in the meantime.

If you don't have a separate website, yes — your booking page can be both. If you do, keep your website as is and put the booking page in the appointment link field.

Google may show booking options from other providers too. It's simplest for customers if you use one booking page everywhere and remove old links you no longer use.

Google describes local ranking in broad terms — relevance, distance and prominence — and doesn't list a booking link as a factor. What a working link does is turn profile views into bookings, and a complete profile with accurate hours, photos and reviews helps customers choose you.

Wrapping up

Put your booking page in Google's appointment link and website fields, in your Instagram bio and Stories, and in WhatsApp. Keep it one short, clean link, test it on your phone, and update everything together if it ever changes.
